‘Learn while you teach: teach while you learn’
This is the golf mantra of Coach Nayaz Pasha.
Nayaz Pasha fell in love with the game of golf at a young age. He grew up surrounded by golfing professionals at home; he grew up amidst golf stories. “My father was a senior caddy who played to a single-digit handicap and my uncle was a professional golfer who played across India and later taught at BGC. They are my reason for falling in love with this game, “states Coach Nayaz.
Coach Nayaz’s journey into golf began at home, amidst the buzzing golf lingo – 24 hours a day. However, it was during his school holidays, while visiting to watch his uncle play at BGC; that he started his golf practice. Nayaz was good at his game.
He soon began playing in junior tournaments organised by the club and won most of the tournaments too.
He is a winner of many prestigious tournaments like the M P Davis Cup, Gurger Cup, Centenary Cup, Rotary Cup and Karnataka Open Golf Championship. He was also a runner-up for Karnataka Open. A winning streak of 9 tournaments familiarized him not just with his game but the name and fame associated with it. He was soon given a teaching certificate from Touché and began his journey as a coach.
His training as a coach was under the tutelage of Mr. Bamby Randhawa and Mr. Vijay Diwicha. Coach Nayaz not only gained knowledge of how to teach from them, but the nuances he learned helped him teach the student and helped him improve his game technically too.
Nayaz continued to play and turned pro in 2013. He ranked 50 and had played over 50 events in a year while working fulltime at Touché. In 2017, he won a few tournaments too. Perhaps it’s this very passion for the game and a will to excel as he teaches that has made him a popular choice.
Nayaz presently works as a teaching professional at To The Tee. He is happy at the golfing facility because he finds it to be a top-notch golfing infrastructure with a well-endowed environment and a highly supportive atmosphere for golf. His dreams
of playing on the professional golf circuit are strengthened here: this international-level facility gives him new hope.
